In the spirit of the season I hope you will indulge me and allow a little Christmas fantasy in the mix. The Polar Express I think is a great movie although it kind of freaks my wife out. She doesn’t like animation except for Charlie Brown let alone motion capture computer-animated films. The story is about a young boy in the late 50’s on Christmas eve and how he questions his belief in Santa Claus. In The Master Key part 11 Haanel talks about the same thing. Well not Santa but maybe???? We are first to believe that our desire has already been fulfilled, its accomplishment will then follow. This is a concise direction for making use of the creative power of thought by impressing on the Universal subjective mind, the particular thing which we desire as already existing fact. Taking a leap that every one has seen the film, isn’t that what the young boy in the film was working on to get to where he could still believe? The conductor in the film played by Tom Hanks and the boy were talking about a strange unseen happening on the train and the boy was questioning was it real, did he see anything. The conductor turns to the boy and says “Some times seeing is believing…….and sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can’t see.”
The greatest teacher said, “What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” (Mark 11:24) Maybe it’s not Santa that I want to believe in but I bet If I use what the greatest teacher taught and mix that with Haanel and a little Polar Express philosophy I will come out with a pretty good recipe for my life. Then again maybe it would be a good thing to believe in Santa at least one night a year! 🙂 :}

I was having dinner the other night with a young man and my wife and the subject of abundance came up. Alright I worked it into the conversation. The young man is in grad school just like my son and faces not having a job upon graduation just like my son and many others. I mentioned to him that abundance is everywhere. That there is plenty for every one. He interrupted me immediately and corrected me as only a grad student can do to a member of the working class and informed me that statistically I was wrong. That there is not enough wealth to go around. He was quite irritated that I would say such a thing without any real stats or proof to back up what I had just said.
He never heard about part 10 first paragraph of the Master Keys by Charles Haanel. Everywhere nature is lavish, wasteful, extravagant. He never heard profusion is manifested in everything or that millions and millions of trees and flowers and animals and plants and the vast scheme of reproduction where the process of creating and recreating is forever going on. He would not hear that there is an abundance for everyone and that it is evident, or that many fail to participate in this abundance and that sadly is also evident.
I did not argue I did not try to sway. I did think. I thought how sad that such a young man could have such a limited view of the possibility’s of the world in which he lives. I also had a revelation for myself. It has now become my responsibility to show him and other like-minded people both young and not so young that there is a different path than one of limitation. My success was not so much for me as it is for him, my son, my daughter and others with struggles and challenges that life seems to bring in such timely fashion. We who study in the MKMMA course and become enlightened to these possibilities of abundance and success have an obligation to light the path by example. To succeed not just for our own sakes but for the sakes of others that they then will know that there is abundance for all and then they to will LIGHT THE PATH.
On this Thanksgiving 2013 I was having a discussion with a member of my family. I happen to mention that no matter my start time (as a driver for a freight co.) I naturally wakeup between 3 and 4 am. I was told that is horrible, that I was stuck in a pattern, not just my sleep pattern but my job as a whole and how do you break something like that now? Interesting is it not? This is exactly what we are doing.
Truth is. Simple isn’t? When we were children nothing could stop us once we knew the truth that we wanted the toy or bicycle or what ever. When we knew how we felt about the boy or girl of our dreams that truth took us to places we never would have dreamed of going otherwise. Some of us forged on with the truth of knowing that we wanted to go to college and be a doctor, lawyer, or teacher. To know truth is to be in harmony with the Infinite and omnipotent power. To know the truth is, therefore, to connect yourself with a power which is irresistible and which will sweep away every kind of discord, inharmony, doubt or error of any kind. I tried to put the last few lines in my own words but how can you perfect perfection. Truth is.
With Truth we are able to visualize, a product of the imagination. We at MKMMA know what we want, the house on a hill overlooking the sea, or the horse farm in Montana or our children’s educations paid in full giving them a stress free start. The thing visualized will manifest itself in form but only with practice. How long did you practice as a child to get what you wanted? How long did you practice visualizing about your first love?
We have read that man is the sum total of his thoughts. This is an undisputable truth. Truth is I have a lot of thinking to do. I promise–to think ENTHUSIASTICALLY!!!
You know its funny when I was a kid I thought Herb Alpert wrote “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da” which Paul McCartney wrote for the White Album. I barely knew who the Beatles were. I was into Miles Davis, Herb Alpert, Boots Randolph, Louis Armstrong and Johnny Cash. Cash was my father’s influence. As you might have guessed I played the trumpet. My brother the saxophone.
Their was a couple of players in the school band that were unbelievably good. They practiced 4 hrs.’ a day! I imagined my self a good player also but I was not good. I practiced 30 min. a day. Truth be told I fancied my self a good player, I daydreamed I was one of my trumpet playing hero’s. When I first got married my wife gave me a Schilke trumpet which is a great horn and I practiced 4 hrs.’ a day. I took private lessons from a teacher who went on to play with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. He taught me to play the perfect note, then the perfect bar, and phrase. That process took 1 year, and then and only then was I ready to implement what I had learned and play a song.
In part eight of the Master Keys Charles Haanel mentions imagination in lines 6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,and 24. Imagination being a constructive thought preceding constructive action. There is a difference between daydreaming the perfect note, the perfect dive, the perfect swing, the perfect speech, or presentation and imagining the perfect note or presentation. Utilizing your imagination is working toward your definite goal. Daydreaming is folly, can be fun but do not ever expect a result, a satisfaction of a job well done. It’s a merry-go-round and at some point one has to get off.
Og Mandino in “The Greatest Salesman in the World” states in scroll 1 advice on the subject of time. [ Time teaches all things to him who lives forever but I have not the luxury of eternity.] I never got to play my perfect song. Life marches on and my wife gave me a beautiful daughter and I worked 2-3 jobs. No regrets. I regret not learning the lesson from the two kids practicing 4 hrs.’ a day. We do not have eternity as Og Mandino writes and we certainly don’t have time for daydreaming. I now have the patience to learn from others that have traveled before me. I Imagine my life and it is.
When I was young I wanted to be an actor. I did not have the confidence to engage in high school but after graduation I began to take classes in Chicago. I was introduced to Stanislavski and “The Method”. In the method everything has meaning on the set. For example if there is a picture on the wall you as the character create a history for that picture as it pertains to you even though it is never in the script and the audience does not know the back story to it. They will feel it subliminally when you look at the picture. You continue with this exercise until you fill your life with meaning making your character complete and whole. This exercise is only a part of the Method. Marlon Brando, Montgomery Clift, and James Dean are examples of Method actors.
Charles F Haanel takes me on a journey to visualize, making mental images which will create my future. I find it interesting that these two men came from the same basic time period saying the same thing. One used a method in art, pertaining to the theater and one used it for the art of living. Creating the character (the person I want to be) by visualization and idealization. Create my plan, envision my plan in action, and then the materialization of my life complete just as I had planned.
There is a door waiting for me. It is my choice to follow the path to it. To open that door which lies inside of me or continue on the path laid out by past experiences, to follow people with dreams bigger than my own. I know now that if I do not fulfill my dreams I by default am a pawn to another to fulfill their dreams.
